Cultures and Communities explores the history of the San Joaquin-Sacramento Delta by recording and exhibiting the experiences of the various communities that make up the mosaic of Delta culture. These projects give students the opportunity to design and publish their research on the history of the Delta region, including Stockton, San Francisco and Sacramento, in virtual galleries. The narratives on this site merge local and digital history making the past more accessible, creating a tool for community engagement, and providing a resource for educators wanting to bring primary sources into the classroom.
